The short version
Humanitix is a not-for-profit ticketing platform whose profits fund charity. Its default US fee combines booking and payment costs at 5% plus $1.29 per paid ticket. On 300 tickets at $299, Humanitix totals $4,872. Checkout Page totals $3,408.30 after adding illustrative Stripe processing to its $717 three-month plan cost.
This comparison is unusual because the fee is part of the product. Every other platform on this site keeps its cut. Humanitix says it gives its profits away, which turns the fee into something closer to a donation your attendees help pay.
Whether that is a good deal depends on the mission and product fit. In the worked combined-cost example, Humanitix is $1,463.70 more. Some organizers value its not-for-profit model; others may prefer to keep the difference in the event budget or donate directly.
Humanitix's default published US fee below already combines booking and payment costs and applies the fixed component per ticket. The Checkout Page total adds an illustrative 2.9% plus $0.30 Stripe rate and assumes one ticket per order. Actual Stripe rates and order counts can differ.
Fees compared
At $299 a ticket, Humanitix's default combined US fee is $16.24: 5% of $299 is $14.95, plus $1.29. Across 300 tickets that is $4,872. Checkout Page costs $717 across the modeled three-month campaign, plus $2,691.30 in illustrative Stripe processing for 300 one-ticket orders, or $3,408.30 total.
| Modeled setup | Plan or booking fee | Payment processing | Combined total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Humanitix default US fee | Included in combined fee | Included in combined fee | $4,872.00 |
| Checkout Page, three even billing periods | $717.00 | $2,691.30 at the illustrative Stripe rate | $3,408.30 |
Humanitix's rate comes from its US booking-fee guide. The Checkout Page processing estimate assumes 300 separate payments; group orders reduce the fixed Stripe component.
Checkout Page's Scale price steps up with billing-period sales volume. The $717 total assumes those $89,700 of sales land evenly across three billing periods, about $29,900 in each. A different sales curve can select different tiers and change the total.
For a 120-person workshop at $75, Humanitix's default combined fee is $5.04 per ticket, or $604.80. Checkout Page costs $198 across two evenly modeled months plus $297 in illustrative Stripe processing for 120 one-ticket orders, or $495 total.
Discounts change the picture. Humanitix publishes a combined 3.9% plus $1.29 rate for eligible charities and schools. Checkout Page gives eligible nonprofits and educational organizations 50% off paid plans. Compare complete totals after confirming eligibility.
Where the money goes and when
On Humanitix's default US gateway, event funds are generally paid after the event. Humanitix also lets organizers connect Stripe, in which case sales go directly to that Stripe account and Humanitix does not control the payout schedule. Checkout Page likewise sends payments to the organizer's Stripe account. Stripe availability, verification and reserve rules still apply.
Confirm payout timing with Humanitix before you build a cash-flow plan around it, because conference costs arrive early. Catering guarantees, AV and speaker travel are usually due weeks before the event, and an organizer who cannot touch ticket income until afterwards is lending the conference their own money.
With Checkout Page you are the merchant of record. The charge on the attendee's card statement is yours, refunds and chargebacks run through your Stripe account, and the attendee list is your data. Humanitix lets you choose whether buyers pay the fee or you absorb it, which is a genuinely useful option, though passing it on still shows up as a higher number at checkout.
Conference features side by side
Humanitix covers the standard conference set and adds a public event listing that Checkout Page does not have. Checkout Page adds conditional registration questions, order bumps and merch in the same checkout. Anything we cannot verify says check with vendor, because both platforms ship changes often.
| Feature | Humanitix | Checkout Page |
|---|---|---|
| Ticket tiers with sales windows | Yes | Yes, start and end dates per ticket type |
| Group tickets | Multiple tickets per order; group pricing check with vendor | Ticket groups, per-order minimums and maximums, bulk discounts on paid plans |
| Registration questions with conditional logic | Yes, additional questions; conditional logic check with vendor | Yes, custom fields with conditional logic and multi-step forms |
| Check-in app and multiple staff | Yes, Humanitix for Hosts app; confirm offline requirements | Yes, any phone or laptop; invited check-in staff require Launch or above; internet required |
| Embed on your website | Yes, sell through an embedded website checkout | Yes, popup or inline on WordPress, Webflow, Framer, Squarespace and Wix |
| Marketplace and discovery | Yes, events are listed publicly | No |
| Seat maps | Yes, reserved seating | No |
| Badge printing | Check with vendor | No, export CSV or connect a badge tool via Zapier |
| Attendee app | Check with vendor | No |
| Add-ons and upsells at checkout | Check with vendor | Yes, order bumps on every plan, one-click upsells on Scale |
| Who receives payouts | Default gateway pays after the event; optional Stripe gateway pays to your Stripe account | Your connected Stripe account |
Checkout Page's gaps are worth repeating plainly: no seat maps, no public discovery, no built-in badge printing, no attendee networking app, and a check-in scanner that needs an internet connection.
Who should choose Humanitix
Choose Humanitix if the charitable model is part of why you are running the event, and you can say so to attendees. A summit whose audience cares where the fee goes gets something from the story that another platform cannot provide. Eligible charities and schools should compare Humanitix's combined 3.9% plus $1.29 rate with the complete alternative cost.
Humanitix offers public event pages and lets the organizer decide whether buyers or the organizer pays the booking fee. Do not assign a discovery value without checking referral data for comparable events.
If you are a school, charity or foundation running an annual summit, the discounted rate and not-for-profit model may support your procurement or mission criteria. If you explain that model to attendees, measure whether it affects questions or completed orders rather than assuming a response.
Who should choose Checkout Page
Choose Checkout Page if its workflow fits and you would rather keep the illustrated $1,463.70 difference. Payments route to your Stripe account, subject to Stripe's settlement and payout rules, and pricing follows the applicable sales-volume tier. You give up Humanitix's not-for-profit model, public listing and reserved seating.
In this worked example, the $1,463.70 difference could remain in the event budget or be donated directly. Whether that matters more than Humanitix's mission and feature set is an organizer decision, not a universal conclusion.
Checkout Page can fit registrations that use conditional questions, dietary requirements attached to a dinner add-on, invoice-detail fields for employer-paid tickets and a multi-step form. Confirm separately whether its invoicing workflow meets the buyer's requirements.
Switching from Humanitix
Plan the payout first, then the rebuild. Ask Humanitix when the balance from tickets already sold will reach you, export attendees and answers to CSV, rebuild ticket types and questions in Checkout Page, connect Stripe, and leave the Humanitix page live until the conference so existing links still work.
- Confirm with Humanitix when funds for tickets already sold will be paid out. Under the default gateway Humanitix controls that balance; with its connected-Stripe option, settlement follows the Stripe account instead.
- Export attendees and their question answers as CSV. This is your badge list and your offline check-in fallback.
- Rebuild each ticket type in Checkout Page with matching prices, capacities and sales windows so tiers switch over automatically.
- Recreate registration questions as custom fields, using conditional logic for the ones that only apply to some tickets.
- Connect Stripe, buy a real test ticket and refund it, so you see the QR ticket email exactly as an attendee will.
- Embed the new page on your website, then close sales on the Humanitix listing but keep it published with a pointer to the new page.
Attendees who bought through Humanitix keep those tickets, so run both check-in lists on the day or import the CSV as your reference for name searches. Free migration is included on the Unlimited plan.

Frequently asked questions
- Is Humanitix or Checkout Page cheaper for a conference?
- Checkout Page is cheaper in this example. Humanitix's default combined US fee is 5% plus $1.29 per paid ticket, or $4,872 across 300 tickets at $299. Checkout Page is $717 across three evenly modeled months plus $2,691.30 in illustrative Stripe processing for 300 one-ticket orders, or $3,408.30 total. Humanitix says its profits, not all fees collected, fund charity.
- Can I switch from Humanitix to Checkout Page before my event?
- Yes. Export your attendees and their answers to CSV, rebuild your ticket types and questions in Checkout Page, and connect your own Stripe account. Confirm with Humanitix when the balance for tickets already sold will be paid out, then keep the old event page live until the conference.
- Do Humanitix fees really go to charity?
- Humanitix is a not-for-profit and states that its profits fund charitable projects. Profit is not the same as revenue, so the amount donated is what remains after running the platform. If the donation is your main reason to use it, read their current impact reporting rather than assuming the full fee is given away.
- Does Humanitix hold my ticket money until after the event?
- Humanitix's default US gateway generally pays after the event, but organizers can connect Stripe instead and manage payouts there. Checkout Page also uses the organizer's Stripe account. In either case, Stripe controls settlement timing and may apply verification checks or reserves.
- What is the charity and school rate on Humanitix?
- Humanitix publishes a combined US charity and school rate of 3.9% plus $1.29 per paid ticket. Checkout Page gives eligible nonprofits and educational organizations 50% off paid plans. Confirm eligibility and compare the complete processing setup before choosing.
